WHY YOU NEED TO TRY DRIBONDŽ
ADHESIVE FILMS
DribondŽ Adhesive Films are perfect for thin veneer
and dissimilar surfaces. They are especially effective for
these applications since the panels do stay extra flat and there is no glue
bleed-thru on the veneers or color change on light color veneers and glue liners
are normally invisible. Most extreme dissimilar surfaces can be made like one
with low pressure and relatively low temperatures.
Two(2) and three(3) ply plywood can be made with
no black lines and still remain perfectly flat. Xbands can be pre-coated with
DribondŽ adhesive for type 1 exterior bonds.
DribondŽ Adhesive Films are very safe and have a virtually unlimited shelf
life when stored under 95° F. (Some exceptions may exist.)
DribondŽ
Adhesive Films can also be pre-applied to veneers, Vinyl and / or substrates for
high speed gluing into panels or two ply skins or faces at a later date, or
during a different shift or at a different location with lower pressures and
faster press cycles.
DribondŽ Adhesive Films can serve as a backer sheet itself and allows the veneers to be flexed or tenderized
with no other backer needed. Multiple plys can be used. If needed, most any
non-coated paper or fabric can be bonded for a backer.
DribondŽ Adhesive Films are an excellent moisture
and fume barrier and can be used for panel backs or
formaldehyde vapor block when overlaying certain particleboards.
Rejects can be virtually eliminated since panels can be laid up at low pressures of
14 psi and can be repressed if necessary. Temp is 160° to 320° F (72° C -160°
C), depending on DribondŽ used and press cycle desired.
Many of these unique adhesives will bond
aluminum, fabric, leather, glass, polyester / fiberglass, wood, ceramic, Vinyl,
Polypropylene, Polyethylene, etc.
DribondŽ Adhesive Films can also be pressed into veneer faces for a plasticising effect or a sizing
effect.
DribondŽ Adhesive Film Overlay is used to
pre-finish smooth veneers and other substrates with a beautiful high or low gloss
finish.
DribondŽ non-slip overlay is used to add no-slip
surfaces to high pressure plastic and other panels for boats, aircraft and
office furniture components.
DribondŽ Adhesive Films can be overlapped if needed to utilize even small pieces of the adhesive film.
It is clearly the safest and neatest adhesive to use.
If no heat is available, DribondŽ pressure sensitive adhesive films are
available.
Volume film
prices start at
for heat activated and for no heat pressure sensitive adhesive
film.
Lower costs than most liquid adhesives!
Many operations have switched since DribondŽ Adhesive Films eliminate the need
for a dangerous glue spreaders and wash-up, etc. As your veneers get thinner and
higher quality panels and higher air standards are needed, these adhesives are
clearly the very best. They have extreme 100% bonds. Many DribondŽ Adhesive
users have been able to simplify their process while lowering overhead,
increasing plant safety and improving product quality.
Peace of mind alone is a great value. Knowing that the adhesive you are using is always the same and is
fool proof is very important.
The ability to apply the adhesive on the wood veneer,
Vinyl
or substrate ahead of time is a big plus in many cases and speeds
lay-up. Since
press cycles can be very short no cure time is needed (just heat). Pre-applying
adhesive to faces also pre-presses and flattens faces. With wood veneers, it
strengthens them to ease pre-sanding quality and improve veneer handling and
quality.
Final pressing any time later into panels or two ply or
edge-banding, etc. offers
unlimited opportunities. Many accounts in the U.S. use the DribondŽ Adhesive
Films to lay-up multiple
veneers for edge-banding. They take sheets of veneers and DribondŽ Adhesive
Films and make 10 to 50 layers
of the thin veneers -- Hot Press or HF Press this stack and saw narrow strips to be used
in place of lumber for edge-banding. The glue lines do not show and the strips are very dry
therefore very stable/straight and flat. All veneers are going one way to give the lumber
look. This also uses up odd, narrow veneers in some cases.
DribondŽ Adhesive Films work great when bonding veneers to HPL (high pressure plastic/sanded
backers). Many in
the U.S. use veneer on HPL (backer sheets) since the finished product is so easy to handle and apply in
the field.
Non-slip DribondŽ
Overlay Film fuses over surfaces for great slip resistance.
A new area of products requires the bonding of thin veneers to
fiberglass or Polycarbonate for special applications. DribondŽ Adhesive Films
work great for this -- sometimes the plastic needs to be sanded first.
Automotive adhesives for dashboards, and interior
sound deadening for fabrics.

Ski's - Snowboards - Skateboards = DribondŽ has
the perfect adhesives for foam / wood core and plastic / composite overlays!
Hope this has answered some of your questions and
given you some reasons why the use of these fantastic new adhesive films is
growing so fast.
